I began this journey unexpectedly when our sick baby Trevor went undiagnosed medically with an illness for his entire 9 ½ months here on earth.
Trevor was born extremely ill, he was purple in color and he started profusely vomiting bile which led us down the allopathic, or conventional medicine way. We visited five hospitals with no success in healing our sweet baby boy of his pain. Trevor had nine surgeries which consisted of Nissen Fundoplication, Pyloroplasty, Botox injections in his rectum, a GJ feeding tube, Broviac line, Colostomy, Ileostomy… all without success. The amount of pain that Trevor suffered just to digest a prescription formula was so excruciating. The only time he felt good was on IV fluids.
While Trevor was hospitalized for his colostomy surgery, a man approached me in the waiting room and asked if he could pray for my son. Of course I willingly obliged. We knew nothing about the family and what they were going through, but we were comforted by their willingness to pray for Trevor. Not long after, a doctor had entered the waiting room to speak with the man who had prayed for Trevor and the parents of the little girl he was there for, about their daughter who had been in surgery. The girl’s surgery was supposed to take six hours and after only one hour, they were a bit concerned to be hearing from the doctor so soon.
As Trevor’s excruciating pain continued it led to further hospital stays. It was during one of those hospital stays when we were once again reacquainted with this girl’s family. Trevor was screaming in pain and the girl’s mother came across the hall to Trevor’s room and offered to pray for him. I had shared my frustration that even after the surgeries, that Trevor was still not cured. She asked me if I had ever thought about anything natural. I told her I didn’t believe anything natural would work when we had already tried everything medically and nothing had given Trevor the relief from his constant pain. I reluctantly took down the doctor’s name and contact information on a piece of scrap paper.
A month before Trevor went home for good, he had passed away in my arms. We called 911 and he came back around. The doctors did his last surgery, the Ileostomy 2 weeks later. While in the hospital, after recovery I knew that the surgery didn’t work because his stools were white and light yellow and he screamed with his bowel movements. I was told he would have to be seen on an outpatient basis because they weren’t able to do anymore for him. It wasn’t until this point that I found that scratch piece of paper and called to talk to the most knowledgeable man about health, Dr. Robert Morse.
After counseling with Dr. Morse I began feeding Trevor coconut milk I had learned to extract from fresh coconuts. The coconut milk was easily digested and it didn’t cause him pain like before when his body worked so hard to break down the formula. A week before Trevor went home for good, he was bouncing himself out of the bouncy seat. He was like a completely different child! Unfortunately, we ran out of time. Our sweet baby boy went with Jesus on April 16, 2010. His dear brothers were in the room with him while I was on the phone with 911. Trevor’s death is something the boys and I will never be able to forget and it is because of his passing that we have continued this journey of natural health for our family. We feel strongly that no other family should have to go through what we have gone through and the amount of pain that Trevor suffered here on earth.
To dig deeper into our family’s history, it wasn’t just Trevor that was sick. Our first son was hospitalized a lot. We had doctored him with medicines, he had sphincters cut in his colon and he was on every medication possible for GI issues. The next step was to have an ACE procedure where they stick a tube in his stomach to his intestines which I manually have to empty for the rest of his life.
Our second son was born and released without a bowel movement on a Saturday. I took him to the pediatrician Monday morning because he still had not had a bowel movement. Thank God the pediatrician had also doctored my first son and called the NICU at a local hospital. They told me to take him there and not register him because they didn’t know how much time we had. When I got to the NICU, they took him out of my arms and immediately started testing. A few hours later, they told my husband and I that our son had Colonic Atresia, a complete disconnect between the large and small intestine. We had about ten hours and it would have taken his life. He underwent immediate surgery and had a colostomy done. He had this for a few months and then had it reversed. He had RSV three times as an infant and had asthma really bad. He was characterized as “failure to thrive” at one year old and was constantly sick.
Both of my first two children had auto-immune deficiencies and were on antibiotics and steroids frequently and nothing seemed to heal them. So after Trevor had passed away and my other 2 boys still being sick, my husband and I agreed we could not continue to go down the allopathic way. We have since taken the “natural route” and it has completely changed our lives. How your body can heal itself with proper nutrition and herbs is truly phenomenal. Our children were on a host of medications for reflux, constipation, asthma and now they are on NO medications whatsoever. They have regular bowel movements every day, we are not at the doctor 3 times a week anymore and they are completely different children. It is sad that Trevor had to pay the price for getting his brothers healthy. We will forever miss him and be grateful for him, because in 9 ½ short months he changed the world for us and has helped a lot of local people on healing their bodies naturally.
I unintentionally started to educate people on natural health which has led us to create Trevor’s Love, Inc. Our seven year old son chose the name, and how fitting it is! So here we are today as a business established to help educate people on how to take care of their bodies with proper nutrition and the help of herbs, all to honor and glorify God. Our children no longer experience pain in their bodies. They can have regular bowel movements everyday without pain. We make fresh juice, smoothies, and eat a lot of fresh fruit and my sons are advocates in sharing their knowledge at such young ages with friends and students at school.
In Genesis 1:29 KJV the Bible tells us “And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.”
With stating that, God has provided everything that we need to nourish and heal our bodies on this earth in its natural form and he wants us to use that to heal ourselves.
